Homework: Patience and Caring in Self-Reliance

The value of patience means the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious, and the value of caring means displaying kindness and concern for others. Those values are in the story in different parts, this story urges the readers to be themselves and feels comfortable in their own skin and with their own thoughts. Emerson posits the effects of self-reliance, altering religious practices, and focusing on themselves, and encouraging people to develop and accept their own culture, this is a clear example of tolerance and patience, every single person in the world is free to show his culture and be proud of it, been tolerance with this means respect them, don't judged and as they accept their own culture, you have to accept that in this world are people different to you, just as Emerson invites us to accept our culture also does it with our religions, Truth is within one’s self. Emerson posits that reliance upon institutionalized religion hinders the ability to grow mentally as an individual.
Also, Emerson mentions that citizens control the government so they have control. He also mentions how “nothing has authority over the self.” He says, “History cannot bring enlightenment; only individual searching can.” He believes that truth is inside a person and this is an authority, not institutions like religion

Emerson wrote how the community is a distraction to self-growth, by friendly visits, and family needs. He advocates more time being spent reflecting on one’s self. This can also happen in the community through a strong self-confidence. This would help the counseled to not sway from his beliefs in groups of people, this is a clear example of intolerance and impatient, we are constantly reflecting and over thinking about ourselves because sometimes the world and the people with we live don't comprehend the originality and be unique.
Emerson states, "Whoso would be a man must be a nonconformist." He counsels his readers to do what they think is right no matter what others think, he also said that the people don't have to be conformist and always go for more and explore ourselves and personalities.
Emerson gives us an amazing and so wise message in this story, and we can see the caring everywhere you have to be caring with others and with yourself, he clearly said "to be great is to be misunderstood" sometimes to be different is to be good and you don't have to hide all of your feelings, thoughts, and beliefs, you just have to be caring with your own way to accept and love yourself in that way and love the others in the same way. In my opinion, to be self-reliance is to be full and happy with who you are and don't let the society changes you, but to reach that you need patience and caring not just with others and yourself, you need it to your, life your and everything is around you.
In conclusion, both of the values are reflected in the story (in my opinion) its a great story to makes reflect and analyze your whole life and actions.
